Anne Heaviside is a legal recruiter with Avalon Legal Search. Anne specializes in recruiting lawyers of all levels and for a variety of practice areas for both law firms and corporate clients throughout Texas and Louisiana.
Anne hails from “Who Dat Nation”. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating Newman High School, she attended Vanderbilt University. However, after spending the spring break of her freshman year at the University of Alabama, Anne transferred schools, unbeknownst to her parents. Roll Tide!. Anne graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A. in English in 1998; and she received her law degree from Wake Forest School of Law in 2001.
Anne brings a unique perspective to legal recruiting. As a former litigation associate, she understands the demands and balances lawyers face each day; and having also worked as the Director of Recruiting for a regional law firm, she understands the inner dynamics, operations, and hiring strategies that law firms face internally.
Prior to joining Avalon Legal Search, Anne was a litigation associate at a major firm in New Orleans where she focused on pharmaceuticals and products liability litigation. After 7 years of practicing law, Anne became the firm’s Talent Recruiting Director, and in this new role, Anne assisted with opening six new offices for the firm in less than eight years. She established a lateral recruiting process to create pipelines of candidates that met strategic hiring needs for her firm.
After Anne and her family relocated to Houston, Anne joined Avalon Legal Search where she utilizes her legal knowledge and recruitment skills to help lawyers throughout their job search. She has the knack to connect with people quickly and easily which gives her the ability to have a greater understanding of a candidate’s personality, motivations, and career goals.
Outside of work, Anne enjoys spending time with her two children, husband, and two poodles (and the order differs daily). Anne and her husband are foodies and are on a perpetual quest to find the next best restaurant and are always searching for New Orleans worthy gumbo and crawfish in Houston. If you can’t find Anne at the office, there’s a good chance she’s bouncing from field to field watching her kids’ baseball and soccer games in Memorial.
